Meet the Instructor
Kristen Boccumini, M.S., E-RYT 500, is a movement educator, retreat facilitator, and co-founder of Yoga Lab in State College, Pennsylvania. With more than two decades of teaching experience and a Master's degree in Exercise Science & Rehabilitation, her work integrates science-informed yoga, functional movement, nervous system regulation, and reflective practice to help people cultivate greater strength, resilience, and embodied awareness.
A mother of four, Kristen's teaching is informed by both professional expertise and lived experience, particularly in supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and life's many transitions. She specializes in core and pelvic floor integration, corrective exercise, and prenatal and postpartum support, helping participants build a stronger foundation in the body while developing sustainable ways of navigating stress, change, and daily life.
In addition to her retreat and studio work, Kristen teaches in the Kinesiology Department at Penn State University where she has received multiple awards for teaching excellence. She also serves as faculty for the international LYT Method® training program, specializing in prenatal and postpartum corrective exercise and core rehabilitation.
Kristen's teaching is rooted in the belief that embodiment extends beyond physical practice into the way we relate, make decisions, care for ourselves, and engage with the world around us.
